This morning we start our new series looking at the book of Genesis, and those pivotal words – In the Beginning.
The book of Genesis gives us an understanding of the meaning of life, and everything that comes after the creation of the universe. We establish the purpose of life and learn of God making a people and binding himself through his covenant.
Genesis is the foundation of the universe and everything in it. We see God as the centre of that universe, and we begin to learn things about the one God, the true God.
For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! - Psalm 95:3-6
