PREPARING YOUR HEART
Why Advent?
As God’s people, we are called to place our trust in His unfailing promises. Throughout the Old Testament, God’s assurances of redemption stirred His people to wait with hope for His divine intervention—a longing ultimately fulfilled in the birth of His Son in a stable in Bethlehem.
The word Advent means “coming.” During the Advent season, we step into the shoes of those who waited for the promised Saviour, re-enacting their hopeful anticipation of Jesus Christ. But Advent is more than looking back—it is a celebration of all God has accomplished through Christ, the one who came to redeem and restore.
Beholding Our God
Advent invites us to fix our eyes on our Saviour, who came to rescue and redeem us. Our God stepped down into our world and dwelled among us (John 1:14). To ignore this truth is to miss the deepest source of joy and gratitude.
Take a moment now to pray. Ask God to fix your heart this December on the One who gave everything to rescue you from sin and death. Pray for His Spirit to work powerfully in your life, and for our community—that hearts would be stirred to seek and know the living God this Christmas season.
Our prayer is that the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to God’s glory and ignite your heart with love for Him.
